The Facilities and Grounds Department has concentrated on three main areas during the first quarter of the school year:
- Health and Safety: Hand sanitizer foam dispensers have been installed in every classroom of the Elementary School. Hand sanitizer wipes have been put in each bus so drivers can wipe down the seats and railings after each trip. The wood chips were replaced with pea gravel on the TES playgrounds. Security lighting and new wiring has been installed in the Bus Barn.
- Environmental / Efficiency: Recycled ground rubber chips, paid for by an environmental grant, were installed at the TES playground. The Trane system software was installed on a computer at the Central Office, and training has begun on operating the system. It is now possible to control the district's heating and cooling system in any building, make repairs to equipment, and conduct resets all remotely from this computer.
- Grounds: Trees throughout the district have been trimmed to eliminate unsightly and dangerous dead areas. Parking lots throughout the district have been resurfaced. District flower beds were redesigned in order to decrease the need for maintenance.
